RMI Lends Support to Earth Day Event
Kentucky has one of the finest natural resources - the Kentucky River. Communities depend on it for water and recreation and it is our connection to the natural world.
Earth Day 2017 is Saturday, April 22. Dr. Burke Christensen highlights the importance of this day by sharing, “Some friends of mine are sponsoring a golf tournament to raise funds to improve the quality of the Kentucky River" and invites others to join in the fun.
Your participation in and support of Earth Day through the Kentucky Riverkeeper golf scramble will help bring a heightened awareness of water quality and pollution issues to our communities and legislators. Help return the Kentucky River to her natural state by joining in a fun day of golf, food and prizes.
The event will be held at Boone's Trace National Golf Club on Friday, April 21. Registration begins at 10:30 am with a shotgun start at 12:00 noon. Individual entry is $75 or $300 for a team. It's a four-person scramble with a shotgun start and use of skirts, mulligans and other advantageous tools available for purchase at registration.
Sponsorships are also available and you or your organization is encouraged to bring prize items or to supply items for the goodie bags.
Christensen affirms his support of the Earth Day event and encourages everyone to "please give this your consideration”.
