Scholarship Story: Adam Froman

Adam Froman

Where did you attend high school?

I am a 2020 graduate of Carroll County High School in Carrollton, Kentucky.

When did you (or do you expect to) graduate from EKU?

I am expected to graduate from EKU with a double major in Risk Management & Insurance, as well as Finance with a concentration in financial planning.

How did scholarship support from EKU's RMI Program help you make it through college?  Did it change your life?  If so, in what ways?

Receiving scholarships from the EKU RMI Department has changed my life.  The RMI department has been very generous not only to me, but to many other students that attend EKU. Opportunities like this open the door for other opportunities. As college students, many of us experience stress among many different areas of our lives. RMI providing these financial awards takes a great deal of that stress away, knowing that if I do well in my classes, my school is helped paid for.

Where are you working now?  What is your job?

Currently, I am not actively working through school. Throughout this past summer, I worked as an account manager at Mark Smith Insurance and Financial Services Inc. in Carrollton, Kentucky. This was a fantastic opportunity I was given by Mr. Smith, who is an alumnus of EKU's Insurance Department.

Did getting a scholarship from EKU's RMI Program make it more likely that you will help others?  If so, can you talk more about that?

Receiving scholarships from the RMI department absolutely makes me want to give back. Knowing that people wanted to help me through this time of my life makes me feel as if I need to share the generosity when I can do so.
