How did scholarship support from EKU's RMI Program help you make it through college? Did it change your life? If so, in what ways? This scholarship made it possible for me to not owe any tuition in my final semester of college. I worked all through school as an RA and had side jobs to try and supplement tuition payments. I was able to graduate without any debt and have a clean slate to start my career. This scholarship also gave me a great boost of confidence and made me very proud of my decision to join the RMI program. It felt like my efforts were recognized and they valued me as a student.
Where are you working now? I am currently working at AssuredPartners in Lexington, KY. I will have been here for two years this April. I am a Senior Account Executive in our commercial lines middle market team.
Did getting a scholarship from EKU's RMI Program make it more likely that you will help others? If so, can you talk more about that? The scholarship was much appreciated, but the RMI program as a whole really made me want to stay involved and help future students. It was a great community and a turning point in my college career. I decided to join to have a leg up in my actuarial exams. I never would have guessed I’d end up studying abroad, becoming vice president of Gamma, doing an underwriting internship, and eventually working full time in insurance. This program and the opportunities it presents are unrivaled at EKU. Any student will find a home there if they are unsure of their path.
