Spring Break Abroad
This spring break ten RMI students spent their week abroad in London, England. From March 9 through 15, students visited Kensington Palace, saw The Lion King, and ate fish and chips. Students traveling to England were:
Alexander Barton - Senior, Risk Management and Insurance major.
John Caudill - Senior, Risk Management and Insurance major with a minor in Mathematics.
Alexandra Cummins - Junior Risk Management and Insurance major with a minor in Personal Finance.
Evan Kear - Junior from Lexington, Risk Management and Insurance major.
Stephanie Moncibaez - Junior from Louisville, Risk Management and Insurance major.
Austin Moore - Junior from Lexington, Risk Management and Insurance major.
Ibrahima Ndiaye - Junior from Lexington, Risk Management and Insurance major.
Jamie Pennell - Junior who double majors in Statistics and Mathematics, minor in: Actuarial Science, Risk Management and Insurance, and Economics.
Sebastian Zabala - Senior, Risk Management and Insurance major.
Sydney Ziebold - Senior with a business major and a concentration in General Business.
The students experienced what day-to-day business looks like in many insurance companies including: Chubb, AssuredPartners, LIIBA, QBE, AXCO, and also toured Lloyd’s.
During their visit to Lloyd’s, students shadowed underwriters and brokers, giving the students real life experience. They also observed million dollar insurance deals being transacted by people not much older than themselves.
Mrs. Debbie Ellis said, “The students were excellent representatives of EKU and the RMI program. They asked thoughtful questions and truly enjoyed the chance to learn about the industry they hope to work in one day from people who were knowledgeable and willing to share their time.”
