On Friday, April 6, The Morgan Insurance Conference was held from 8 to 4:30 at the Hilton Lexington Downtown Hotel. Sixty-one insurance professionals attended the event alongside twenty-five RMI students. Bobby Reagan, CEO of Reagan Consulting was the keynote speaker for the event. Reagan brought more than three decades of insurance industry experience to his company as well as to the event to share among the attendees.
This year’s Insurance Conference was named after Robert Morgan. He is the retired Director, President, and CEO of Cincinnati Financial Corporation and the Cincinnati Insurance Company. Morgan is a 1954 EKU alumnus and a native of Perry County. Along with over 20 years of banking experience at Fifth Third Bank, he also served in the US Army on active duty and for twelve years as a member of the Reserves and Ohio National Guard with the final rank of Captain.
The students were able to spend time networking and learning from business professionals in their field, as well as getting a head start in promoting their future career goals with potential employers.
RMI Program Coordinator Debbie Ellis said, “We had a great day and the students were able to make real connections with insurance professionals. Several of the sponsors set up booths that students were able to go to and meet recruiters for the companies.”
The event also honored the twenty-two students who received scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year.
