Spring 2018 RMI Grads Honored

Donning black and gold sashes to signify affiliation with Gamma Iota Sigma, graduation candidates for EKU's Risk Management and Insurance program walked the stage for spring commencement. Ceremonies for the College of Business and Technology were held Friday, May 11th, in Alumni Coliseum on the EKU Campus.

EKU’s School of Business is pleased to welcome Dr. Lisa Gardner to the Risk Management and Insurance program. Dr. Gardner will be joining EKU as RMI Program Director in August 2018.

EKU’s Risk Management and Insurance program has set the date for its 28th annual golf outing to be held at The University Club at Arlington in Richmond. The event, a fundraiser for student scholarships and travel support, will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018.

On Friday, April 6, The Morgan Insurance Conference was held from 8 to 4:30 at the Hilton Lexington Downtown Hotel. Sixty-one insurance professionals attended the event alongside twenty-five RMI students. Bobby Reagan, CEO of Reagan Consulting was the keynote speaker for the event.

Spring Break Abroad

This spring break ten RMI students spent their week abroad in London, England. From March 9 through 15, students visited Kensington Palace, saw The Lion King, and ate fish and chips. Students traveling to England were:

RMI Program Nationally Ranked

The Risk Management and Insurance Program at Eastern Kentucky University ranks in the top 20 nationally, according to the February 2018 issue of Best’s Review magazine.

Eastern, which offers the only undergraduate insurance degrees in Kentucky, fared especially well in the “Popular Performers” category, which tracks online survey responses, many of whom are alumni.

Risk management and insurance employers from two separate organizations will be coming to EKU in January. Both are actively recruiting students with business-related majors.
